2 ☆ Believe Spiiiiiicy! (not!!) Geikara v.1! [13 Jul 2009|04:03am] hinoai I decided to call this my Gekikara ("super-spicy") series! Technically, this isn't the first entry.. it would be the second! So, I heard that the curry at a place called "Ethiopia" might be the spiciest in Tokyo. Boy were they (the claimant) wrong. I had their level 70 (the spiciest they had) and it was spicy, but nowhere near Bakudan-ya. Not only that, but it was watery and basically tasted of one spice (I don't know the name), with no complexity or even a good flavor. It was horrible. I would never, ever recommend them. I can't even link them, it was that bad. ToT Not a contender at all. Then I went to an onigiri shop that supposedly served over 50 kinds of onigiri. They only had 32. They were also all normal or variants of normal+mayonnaise. The most unusual was "cheese" but it turned out to be cream cheese, which has all the novelty of mayonnaise (which is a normal ingredient in many onigiri here, to my dismay). Too bad. They were as disappointing as the curry shop. So I headed off to browse the bookstores. And I hit JACKPOT! Sort of. I found a book called "Baka Kara Densetsu" (The Legend of the Stupidly-hot (food), I guess it translates to? I suck at translation..) At first I thought that this book was the answer to my prayers!! I mean, it lists what just might be the hottest foods in all of Tokyo! I am without doubt going to try them all, starting with the spiciest! However, there is a section about the author. He claims that he is the king of all spicy foods, and nobody can beat him. He was also on a tv show competition for eating spicy food a few years ago. I... I've never been this jealous in my entire life! That title deserves to be mine! I'd die rather than admit defeat! (well, come close..) I guess that I was hiding under a rock too long! I wonder how to declare myself the reigning champion (and prove it). Maybe there isn't a way, but I think that I will declare it anyway! Let the challengers come! (and I'm appy to prove it anytime!!!!!!) 勝負だ！！！！ I think that I've just ignited my fiery spirit! But let it burn-- rest assured, I will not back down! (mwahahahaa!) So eager to prove this! =D I really, really am excited about this! Speak, and the opportunities will come! So here starts GEKIKARA! Or JAMIEKARA! (hope I won't need surgery when this is all done!) PS: I'm back in the studio and sensei says that this chapter we're working on is the most interesting in the whole history of the series. Yesterday was kind of beyond amazing. orange_of_doom and I had to run a couple of errands with my mom, but after that, we went out and got as many free slurpees from 7-11s as we could. (Actually, we just got two and were already quite slurpeed out |D) We came home and played some Mario Kart 64; good times. Later, big_gendo comes over so we can continue watching the Harry Potter movies before the new one comes out next week. Before we can even start, he tells us the tale of this legendary creation: the McGangbang. What you do is you buy a McChicken and a Double Cheeseburger (well-- a McDouble now if you want to keep the dollar menu combo which we do!!), you split the double cheeseburger down the middle and place the entirety of the McChicken within it. AND VOILA: A McGANGBANG. It is a most unholy creation, but it's so amazing. EVERYONE MUST GO OUT AND TRY IT. ♥ And actually, after having tried that out, we went to a third 7-11 and got another slurpee |D We were able to sample three different flavors!! Well, we came home and watched the Goblet of Fire, which happens to be my favorite of the series. We played around too much so we ran out of time for Order of the Phoenix, but we're gonna watch it before going to the theatre on Tuesday. We also stopped by Super Kmart yesterday where I picked up a new pair of rollerblades. I'd been thinking about getting a new bike and finally decided I didn't feel like spending so much and I like rollerblades and had never ever gotten a new pair so hey *A* I tried them out today, though. I... don't know if they just need to be broken in or if they just suck but they don't... roll. Like, at all. Even downhill. I thought I was going to die, and of course, I had forgotten to eat anything before I headed out. :( I also got another little storage bin, since I finally realized something I needed to do in order to get my fabric organized. I bought a nice wire shelf for all of them (which is... unfortunately, in the van, so I can't really progress much until that's back dsfkl) BUT, I really have... way too much fabric;; and with limited shelf space, I want to conserve as much as possible. And since the littler pieces would just end up buried anyway, I'm using the skills I learned at JoAnn!! to roll up anything that's pretty much half a yard or less (or a little bigger if it's thin fabric) and putting all of the scraps into the bin >:[!! Yes, it's... not really anything special, but it makes me happy. :'( I can't wait to have this all organized; I'm hoping it'll inspire me to sew again. ;w; Well, on top of that, that will clear out this giant-ass storage tub that's been clogging up my space, and everything falls into place from there. (I hope.) But if there's anything I've learned about storage is that it's so much better to have a lot of smaller containers than one giant-ass one. (I was cheap in the beginning, sob) Anyways!
